Swift, J (1667.11.30-1745.10.19)

A tale of a tub, The battle of the books, 1697-99を書き,宗教と学問の腐敗を諷刺した。 [主著]前記のほか:The journal to Stella, 1766-68. The conduct of the allies, 1711. A modest proposal for preventing the children of poor people in Ireland from being a burden to their parents country, 1729; A complete collection of polite and ingenious conversation, 1738; Directions to servants, 1745. 詩:On poetry, a rapsody, 1733; Verses of the death of Dr. Swift, 1739.
